In cooperation with the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, the Deutsches Museum and the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies, Potsdam, Haus der Kulturen der Welt is investigating fundamental issues of the “age of humanity” in a project spanning 2013 and 2014. The interdisciplinary project uses artistic and scientific means to trace the question of what it means for our understanding of ourselves and our future if nature is human-made. In addition to debated negotiations on key questions of the Anthropocene, exhibitions, musical. programs and other events explore the field, throw up methodological questions and demarcate intellectual and disciplinary boundaries.
